Breeding farm
General information
The breeding plant is a separate structure of Plodopitomnik OJSC. It specializes in raising brown Swiss cows, which are distinguished by their dairy and meat characteristics. The status of a breeding plant was assigned to the farm by the commission for state certification of breeding farms under the Ministry of Agriculture RF on March 25, 2008.
Equipment and infrastructure
In 2013, at Plemzavod, equipment was replaced, a new livestock complex was built, which made it possible to increase the number of herd by a third. The new complex is a modern livestock facility built using the latest world technologies for keeping livestock.
The infrastructure of the farm includes:
- 6 livestock farms
- Livestock complex for raising replacement calves for the main herd
- Calf dispensary
- Dairy laboratory
- Feed storage
Products
All milk yields obtained from the cows of the farm are sold on the territory of the Nizhny Novgorod region. Some of them goes for processing at OJSC "Dairy Plant" Borsky "where it is used for the production of yoghurts.
Animals
To date, the total livestock of the herd is more than 1,300 heads, including 400 cows of the "elite" and "elite-record" class. The farm's specialists are constantly monitoring the living conditions of livestock, carry out veterinary control, and select the optimal diet.
Plemzavod Plodopitomnik OJSC is an annual participant of industry exhibitions. The cows of the farm have repeatedly received the Grand Prix of professional competitions and shows.
